Hey, are you so over foo dogs?
Me neither. Thanks Decor Once More! He's huge and fabulous.
Unfortunately I was shopping for office furniture, not fancy menacing dogs. Why does this happen to me? Does this happen to you? I can look for something forever and ever and not find what I'm looking for, and then JUST when I've decided to tap the brakes and save some cash, a million things pop up that are just right. Maybe not a million, but 3. When it rains it pours, right? So you remember this table right? DO NOT get me wrong, I am so thrilled that I finally found exactly what I was looking for (at Ballard no less...score!), it just wasn't at the exact right time. And now looky what I ran across today for dirt cheap.
Right?? Now I can't figure out, are those exactly what I was looking for or am I just getting excited because the upholstery is a pale blue silk that I could totally live with until I can afford to redo them? That is kind of nice not to have some heinous print that doesn't go with the rest of your house for goodness knows how long. Here's another look at the dining room dream I posted last week (who knew it would happen so fast??).

What do you think? Those blue chairs would totally work and get this. They are $59. I wouldn't lie to you. And I only need three of them. Hello?
Another question...I have a sneaking suspicion it is going to take me a very long time to pin down the right style and size wing chairs I want for the ends of the table. Wouldn't these be great stand ins until then?
It would give me a similar look until I can find what is just right. Is that wasteful to buy two chairs you know you won't have forever? What if I said they are only $69? I know! And listen, here's the thing about me...I ALWAYS find another place for things.
What do you think? I need your advice!!
"I love you and Daddy. I love BOTH." He is very proud that he now knows what 'both' means.

Oh, I say buy those chairs quick! The blue will totally go with that table. And the slip covered ones will work nicely until you find the right wing chairs. And at those prices, you can't loose!
ReplyDeleteNot so sure about the blue chairs, love the blue, not in love with the tone of wood. I think darker wood might give you a better end result. I do love the slipcover chairs, they have an elegant appearance. Oh & the Foo Dog is awesome, I would buy it too.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Now, about that office...
i love the wing chair idea....have you ever thought that they might be a tad too massive?
ReplyDeletehave you tried another large chair or two there to test the scale of your vision?
wowee! when it rains it pours in design la la land. :)
I think those chairs are PERFECT! I can't believe they are going to separate that dining set.
ReplyDeleteNikki- I know! This store almost always separates stuff (those slipcovered ones were in a set of 6, 4 already purchased) which is great. Most stores won't and I totally understand. Good for me!
ReplyDeleteDayle- Completely agree on the wood. I think it will help me to live with them and the table to figure out exactly what to do with them.
Thanks everyone for your comments!! So helpful!! And to all you dear folks that read every day and never comment...don't be shy!! I want to hear from you. :-)
Beth- Definitely worry about that! That is why it is going to be difficult to find exactly the right size/style. And since I have a really bad habit of telling everyone that walks through my door exactly what my plans are for everything (like they care?!), I figure it will be nice to have stand-ins. ha!
ReplyDeleteJust had a thought about the concern that the Wing Back Chair might be too large for the end of your table. Go on my store page and look for the Red Domian Slip-Cover Chairs. They have a High Back w-Arms, the red needs to go, but with elegant new slipcovers they may just be the perfect scale. They are priced @ 75.00 each, 63.75 with your discount.
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren,
ReplyDeleteI am new to your site and came across those fabulous slip covered chairs and my jaw dropped at the price! please please do share where I might find them as well! Thank you so much!
