This a Post of Convenience

Sorry you've missed me!  I have to say, I've been a little uninspired this week what with real life getting in the way.  I know, I know...as a blogger it is my job to go out and get inspired to bring you all daily bits of beauty and motivation.  But for me inspiration = things I want to talk about.  Ha!  I will work on this.

Anyways, I was chatting with my darling chica Julie Dodson of Dodson and Daughter Interiors this morning and she let me know that she's got a little snippet in this month's Traditional Home magazine.  And since that issue happens to be currently residing on my kitchen counter..."blog post!" I said aloud.

Well, isn't that convenient?  Faux leather.  Just what I've been considering for my new/old dining room chairs.  And I must say, Julie is kind of the master.  She is known for her use of luxe materials in the elegant interiors that she designs, and yet this is probably the 3rd or 4th job of hers I've seen that incorporates vinyl. I for one am a BIG fan!  Looks beautiful, easy on the budget.  Don't you love designers who can get real?  Me too.  I say, take another look at vinyl~ if its good enough for Julie, it is certainly good enough for moi.

And looky what's around the bend in the same magazine.  Neutrals, linen, natural fiber rug and bright blue leather chair.  I think that is the exact color I'm looking for!

I will post some before before pics of the dining room tomorrow (the table has shipped!), but first can I just go ahead and tell you what I found on the tag of these slipped chairs I bought for $69?

That's a sewing machine cord in the background because I've managed to convince myself that I'm going to start sewing.

Mitchell Gold.  Yes, that Mitchell Gold.  Their side chairs can run $400-$600 for real.  In the end, no it doesn't matter, it just makes a deal feel that much better when you know you got a quality piece of furniture for a steal.  Woooo hoo!

And by the way, I love love my new chairs.  I really can't wait until my new table gets here!! I need to see everything together because right now it's all feeling just a little too girly (and the fancy chandy's aren't even up yet!), thus the vinyl discussion.  But we'll talk about that way too much tomorrow.  XOXO

Oh the good old Stay at Home Mom argument.  Someone said to me yesterday that she wished she had my life, that it is "so relaxing!"  Sigh.  Is it the greatest job I could possibly have and am I IMMENSELY blessed and grateful that I am able to do this?  Absolutely.  Is it "relaxing"?  I really can't stop laughing long enough to answer that.

  1. I truly have missed you this week. I've been stalking your blog the last few days and I keep coming up with nothing new from you. Well, Welcome Back to the stay at home Mom that gets to relax all day. For real, do people really think that when you stay home you sit and eat Bon-Bons all day? Wait, do they still make those or did I just seriously age myself? Anyway, great find on the Mitchell Gold Chairs, they will look great with the table. Looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.

  2. I can't wait to see your new dining room. And the SAHM comment is too funny! You should invite the person over for a day and show them just how relaxing it is. Ha!
