This is Oscars Eve~ A look back

We are a more than a little bit into the Oscars in this house.  Well, all the award shows really, but we all know this is the big one.  My husband and I actually decided this year to see every Best Picture nominee (and after we bootleg [sshhhhh!] 127 Hours this afternoon we are done) so that we are properly equipped to cheer and jeer all of the selections.  A few of our friends gather at our house and we all fill out the official ballot with our choices.  So fun!  I always beat my husband and this infuriates him.  Heeee!

Anyway, the fanfare of the awards is all well and good but of course what we really want to see are the dresses, right?  RIGHT.  Here's a look back at some memorable dresses of Oscars past:

Julia when she was with Benjamin Bratt (I loved him and did not feel she was worthy)

Marcia Gay Harden

Halle Berry when she won for Monster's Ball.  I did not like the dress or the movie but sweet pajamas, she is gorgeous.

Salma is always the bombshell.  She can't not be.

Hilary Swank.  Meh. (Remember the Office hot or not episode?  Hilarious.)

Audrey Hepburn looking so classically beautiful as only she can.

BJORK.

Cher, don't we miss her?  Without her and Sigourney Weaver there have been so few amazingly awful dresses.

Grace Kelly

Gwyneth.  Double Meh.  This dress was too big, it was such an odd choice.  Shakespeare in Love was great though.

I love you Heidi Klum. So much.

Kate can do no wrong ever.

Ever.

Kim Basinger with a young Alec.  I wish they were still together, boo.

Pretty much my all-time favorite Oscar dress.  She looked so beautiful!!  Michele Williams.

Natalie Portman will not look like this tonight unless she gives birth on stage and then quickly changes for the after parties (I hope not, wow.).

Hi Kate!  Did I mention that I am a fan?

This dress on Penelope Cruz was so fabulous, and I'm not a blush pink kind of girl.  She clearly is.

I liked this dress and I like Sarah Jessica Parker and I don't care what anybody says about that.

I can't wait for tomorrow night!*

*If you're wondering why I didn't post Celine Dion in that crazy white suit on backwards, it's probably because you'll never see a picture of Celine Dion on this blog ever.  This I will promise you now.**

**This is also the last time I will speak of her.
