This is Thursday Blog Love~ Maddie's Nest

How gorgeous is that nursery?!  Susie Isaac, the brains and beauty behind Maddie's Nest and Maddie G Designs, lovingly designed this nursery for her daughter Maddie.  After Maddie was born, Susie (a longtime CPA and fund manager for a large DC firm) decided to turn her focus to her home and family.  She enrolled in an Interior Design program and now her main focus is to help the so called do-it-yourself interior designer (Hello! That is me...emphasis on "so called") gain access to “To the Trade” designer resources at lower mark-ups than can generally be gained through hiring a full service designer, who likely does not have the time or inclination to make small purchases for non-clients.   Her target market is the person who has found a fabric, piece of furniture, etc. in a design magazine and really just needs help obtaining the product at an affordable price.  Isn't that great?!  We mere amateurs have somewhere to turn, someone to help us.

Someone with taste like this:

I originally stumbled upon Maddie's Nest looking for some Trina Turk fabric for new patio furniture pillows.  Do you know how much Trina Turk fabric by the yard is retail??  Consider yourself lucky, it's depressing.  I was on the Ebay hunt because WOULD YOU JUST LOOK AT IT?

While I was actually looking for the Super Paradise print on the pillow, Susie had the Santorini featured on the cushions for a fraction of the retail cost.  SOLD!  Weeeellll, when it arrived it was just too wonderful.  Not only were the finished pillows too good for my humble patio, they made the leap to my living room sofa.  I am completely in love with them!!

(Ed. note: that lamp looks so ridiculous there....it doesn't live there, she stuck it there to 'style' the picture.)

So that is what Susie at Maddie G. Designs can do for us.  Isn't she fantastic?  I can't wait to see all that she has in store for her new home in Dallas, but her blog is a great read just for the inspiration photos she posts regularly....like this kitchen designed by Windsor Smith that will be mine after I hit the jackpot.

Baylor Says...This morning we were leaving our neighborhood and when the big, rumbling gates started opening Baylor gasped and said "I'm scared of West Palm Beach!"  I guess we always tell him he lives in West Palm Beach and he thinks that's the name of our neighborhood.  Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
