What I've Been Doing Instead of Blogging...

Making bird nests.

Finally leaping on the train of a trend that has long since departed the station (but I hear if I call them sunflower mirrors I can still be cool).

Being an irresponsible parent and skipping naps.

Cleaning out the playroom.  Mortified to tell you that this took every bit of a whole day.

Taking pics of stuff that I'm way to lazy to ever list on ebay.  (Calypso size 9 espadrilles? Anyone?  Never been worn.)

Playing in the mud...

...which calls for lots of bubble baths (naked babies FTW!)

Not doing dishes.

Painting frames gold.

Picking up dry cleaning and leaving in the dining room for 3 days.

Trying to hunt down some reasonably priced pillow inserts. (Any sources ladies?)

Anybody else been completely knocked off their game by spring break?

3 years, 3 months

Uggh, I don't even want to write this down.  I don't want to remember it.  Maybe one day I'll laugh?

He said his first mean thing to me.  Like on purpose, trying to be mean.  He was upset that it was time to go to bed (again, my fault for skipping naps) and he turned to me and yelled...

"YOU'RE OLD!"

I'm sorry, what?  Stunned silence.

I asked him where he heard this and he said that a boy at school said it to their teacher.  So, in other words, he knew it was mean, he tucked it away and then brought it out as ammunition specifically to hurt my feelings.

Tell me I'll forget this one day.  I was so irrationally hurt.

  1. Your sink, your play room, your irresponsibility as a parent....all too familiar. We have a lot of mess and a lot of skipped naps around here. Quinn said something like that to my mom when she was babysitting. Broke my heart and it wasn't even to me. Mostly because it means he is growing up and losing his innocence. That is a hard pill to swallow!
