You know, I hope you can appreciate all the honesty here. I'm starting this blog by covering the 2 most embarrassing rooms in my home. First my Master bedroom, and now my powder room. I know what you're thinking- "Wow Lauren, how fun, did you just move into a new house?" Ummm, no. We have lived here for almost 4 years. That is 4 years of guests using this bathroom as it is the only one downstairs. Yes, this is THE powder room, not A powder room.
"Lauren, how funny that you just started peeling that atrocious wallpaper off last week in anticipation of the redo!" Negative. I'm pretty sure I've been picking at that wallpaper since the week we moved in. You know, ALMOST 4 YEARS AGO.
Okay! Now that you're sufficiently mortified for me, let's get a peek into what's happening right this very moment! First, another look at the befores.
Let the demolition begin!! Look there's Tom!
End of Day 1 (look at that old school tile. Reminds me of my childhood and feels like a big hug!)
End of Day 2
Tom cut each individual piece of this paneling. These are not sheets of wood that he's just nail gunning to the wall. I gave him a picture and he designed every single piece of this himself. He is AWESOME.
End of Day 3
Well there's your sneak peek! Oh I know, who can wait?? The paneling is being painted as I write this and I'm just dying to see the end result....but there's one little problem. I haven't picked a new light fixture!! I picked this huge, gorgeous mirror that doesn't allow room for a sconce on one side of it, so it's either one big sconce in the middle of the wall (eh.) or an overhead light (low ceiling, don't want anything fancy that competes with the schmancy vintage mirror). I'd love to hear your suggestions, all you lurkers out there!!!
Oh one more thing! Here is the entire inspiration for the bathroom redo. I saw this on Simply Seleta last year and knew instantly this was it.
Baylor Says....
I just let my 2 year old eat an entire large bag of Smartfood. I think I just wanted to see if he could really do it. Mother of the Year.
I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I have a new blog for you to follow. I'll email it.
ReplyDeletei love simply seleta...it's gonna look good!
