As you can see over there to the left, I read a lot of blogs. Inspiration is always just a click away, and sometimes you happen upon someone who just has IT. The ability to make you laugh, keep you interested in what they're up to, and help you look at things in a fresh new way. For me lately, that person has been Marianne Strong at Haven & Home. Plus, just look how adorable she is!
Birmingham Home & Garden recently featured Marianne as a Trendsetter & Tastemaker
Marianne is an Interior Decorator in Birmingham, Alabama and uses Haven & Home to express her style, show examples of her impressive design work, and to generously share her thoughts and own inspirations.

Don't you love seeing a decorator's own home?? Me too, and hers is pretty great.
Look! A big leaner like I really want.
I'm pretty sure she said she papered the back of the china cabinet with gift wrap. Who thinks of things like that? Creative people.
I love LOVE her dining room light.
Marianne is also a Christian and is consistently open about her faith and shares motivational scripture that is always uplifting. I so enjoy her Quiet Time posts on Sundays.
And she's having a BABY!! Considering the gorgeous nurseries she has in her portfolio, I cannot wait to follow all the prettiness in store for new Bebe Strong.
Love this idea she shared recently, and am working on some similar things for the Big Boy Room. So affordable, so cute, so clever!
I almost forgot to mention one of Marianne's most endearing qualities....she's an OLE MISS girl! I kinda sensed it when I first spotted her picture (it's a radar) and then I saw the tell-tale print on her gallery wall:
"The University gives a diploma and regretfully terminates tenure, but one never graduates from Ole Miss."
It's true, we are bonded forever. So Haven & Home will be a forever favorite...won't you check out her lovely blog and make it a favorite too?

A Houston Talent indeed! Please please PLEASE go check out my bestie Julie Dodson's work that is featured on Cote de Texas today. I have been itch itch itching to post some of her gorgeous interiors, but could never present her in the way Joni can and to thousands of her readers. Julie is a talented designer, but an even lovelier person. XOXOXO
Yesterday as we were driving to school Baylor asked me "When I'm a big boy, I can drive?" I told him of course, he can drive when he is a big big boy. "Okay. Imma have a garbage truck."
Great post! I will have to check her out.
ReplyDeleteWell, Calvin has retired from wanting to be a trash man when he grows up to a recycle man.
I love the last picture - coral is a wonderful color I wish I could add somewhere in my house.
ReplyDeleteI also love painted ceilings!
ReplyDeleteomg! decor stimulation overload! the paintd doors, the new dining room chandelier, the haven and home post (she is one of my fav blogs), the madeleine weinrib rug shout out (totally on my wish list!), the furniture shuffle in your living room (wow!!! the mirror looks different when not flanked by the table and accessories) and most of all.....the new Baylor Says header. Finally, hallelujah, 'nuff said. You go girl!
