This is Saturday Randomness and an Office Shopping Trip

I'm such a liar, right?  I completely promised a post on my dining room yesterday and flat out didn't do it.  Maybe I should lie and say I've just been super busy and couldn't find one second to take photos, but in reality I just didn't want to clean the table off.  It's covered in sewing supplies, 2 days of mail and probably a swimsuit or something.  So I apologize.

The main reason I've been MIA is that I've got one thing and one thing only on the brain and on the budget: My husband is moving into his first office space.  Like the first one that's all his with 1800 square feet to buy furniture for and decorate.  I know not whether this will interest you in the slightest, but it will be my main focus for the next month.  And decorating an office is so different from a house (especially since it's not for me...nuts.).  I mean, I can't make his law office a whole lot of french country with a sprinkle of modern.  You know?  He lets me do that in our house because he loves me.

So any tips you have for dressing a legal office, I'm all ears! Meanwhile here are just a few things I picked up this morning.  Once again, I loooooove Decor Once More!

Pretty little marble top coffee table

I saw this beautiful mid-century table and thought it would be perfect for a mini, impromptu conference table in his personal office, and then found out there are 3 additional leaves that turn this gorgeous thing into an 8 foot table!  Do you have any idea how much I was about to pay for a not attractive, run of the mill, cheaply made conference room table?

Picked up this lovely inlaid coffee table as well.

I had a thing for lions this morning I suppose.  Yay, a theme!

How great are these vintage chrome dining chairs??  No, not for me but they can be for you if you hop on over to Decor Once More before someone snaps them up.  I think they're only like $60!  And they are SUPER heavy and nice.

I also attended my favorite auction last night and walked out with this really nice navy leather wing back chair for $50...

This is not my house, this is the auction house.  I was not boxing prior to these photos.

This Eames-ish chair and ottoman were the whole reason I went to the auction and I was outbid at the last minute.  Super sad face and can't stop thinking about it.

I did finally snag something for myself last night....this fairly awesome chrome and white leather stool for 15 bones.  Master bathroom?

Fun stuff!

Have a wonderful holiday weekend and HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!

A few days ago, out of nowhere, Baylor said "I can't wait to go to college!!" As I started making a sad face he said "You can come too!"  I will hold him to that, don't think I won't.

  1. Naturally, I love the pieces you found at Decor Once More and it's always so nice to see you. I'm really looking forward to watching you put your talents to work in your husbands new office. A little stressful I'm sure, but I bet the finished space will WOW him. Now about the jump house in your living room, it made me laugh and I love it! What college will you be attending with your son?

  3. Personal Shopper? That could be fun, but I don't hold that natural talent of design that you have. I'll certainly do my best though to keep an eye out for you. I saw that huge wall unit on CL & thought it was pricey, but what a great look & piece to have for law books. Keep me updated on what to look out for.
Happy 4th to you & your family.
