Just a Few Little Things I Picked Up

How was your weekend, friend?  We had a good one that I kicked off with some shopping on Friday.  Now that the Peeps is back in school 3 days a week, I am back to bidness. I ran around a little bit to my usual haunts and then hit an estate auction on Friday night.

Ever since we returned from our trip through the UK, my sister Janie has been on the hunt for a toast rack.  They take their breakfast very seriously across the pond, and we were served a beautiful display every day which usually included some sort of vintage toast holder.

Even though it isn't a metal like most I've seen, it is DARLING!!  (Also snagged a great book on Japanese Imari porcelain.)

I really don't know what to say about this hanging lamp.  It is HUGE and awesome and stunning and many other adjectives that escape me.  AAAH so many ideas for this thing, I cannot decide where to put it first (before I eventually make my handyman move it around 10 more times).  $30.  You heard me.

I've been on the lookout for a federal style mirror forever...you've seen them all over the blogs and the shelter mags and it's just one of those things I want too!  No clue on whether this is antique or not, but I know it's old as the hills and all kinds of beat up (love it!) and only $15.  They are all over ebay and first dibs for anywhere from $$ to $$$$.  I'm probably going to sacrifice this to the husband's office for a while, but I'll get it back. 

I'm obsessed with bookends lately, what's up with that?  These little marble horsey beutes were mine for a mere $15.  They need some cleanup, but I'll keep em.

When I picked Baylor up from his first day of school last week it went like this:

Me- "Hiiiiiyeeee!!!  Your first day of school big boy, how was it?  I love you so much and missed you so much I just can't believe it!! mwah, mwah, mwah can't get enough kisses I love you so much!  What would you like to do special after your first day of school??

Him- "I want chicken nuggets and don't ruin my day."
