Scenes From an Auction...

I caught Back to the Future 2 yesterday while I was getting ready for our church Trunk or Treat...I have to say, it was pretty off base (and a little racist, right?).  Anyway, the visionaries behind BTTF2 painted 2015 as full of flying cars and hovercrafts but no cell phones.  Although the pay phones were somewhat futuristic.  And they totally didn't guess the MP3 phenomenon...they predicted CDs the size of pizzas.  Good stuff.

Here's our Halloween boy this year.

He'll be joined by the rest of the Flintstones crew tonight, so I'll bring you pics tomorrow.  I wish I could show you the Bedrock Quarry we set up in our trunk last night, but it poured down rain and I couldn't snap any pics.

I failed you again this weekend.  I've got to get the hang of posting on the weekend so I can tell you about my auction shenanigans while they're fresh in my noggin.  This week was a doozy...I was absolutely convince this amazing leather and chrome 70's bench was coming home with me.

See those 4 little stickers on it?  Those are phone bids, which meant that at least 4 other people were equally convinced it was going home with them.  Guess whose pockets were deeper. Sad face.

It went for a $1000, and would have kept going so I just bailed out.  Regretfully.  Bitterly.  So bitterly I couldn't enjoy the rest of the show.  To be fair, the closest (and cheapest) one I could find on 1st Dibs is $3600.  Ahh well, here are some goodies I missed out on as I held my pity party for one.

I scared.

Terrified.

Pretty and huge mirror.

I was interested in that green chair, but was too busy pouting to make a move.

Gorgeous china tea set.  My iphone pictures are not as gorgeous, apologies.

I really liked these tufted chairs and spent most of the night (when I wasn't huffy) trying to figure out what color I would paint that wood?

Beautiful wing chairs in perfect condition.

This dollhouse reminded me of the I'm A Giant project a bunch of bloggers are giggling about amongst themselves.  Check it out here, they are going all out.

Can you see that bar cart buried in there?  Liked it.

I'm BACK.  Back in the New York Groooooove......I know more than any normal person should about Ace Frehley's solo album.  But this is Paul Stanley I think.

Don't you love that mirror behind that crazy tiger?  Me too.

MOOSE.  Considering Baylor is scared of a mysterious ghost in our house that he calls "Big Lots", I imagine that Moose would not go over well.  Such is life.

I went home empty handed for the first time in my auction-attending career.  What did y'all do this weekend?

Let's up the excitement here this week.  I'm forging ahead with some projects around the house, so please stick around.

XOXOXO

"Mom Mom, lock the bathroom door so Big Lots can't come in here."
