The Globes! They Rocked It!

The best part of being woken up by a crying 3 year old with an ear infection at 5:00am?  I got to make up my Golden Globes dress recap before I seeing or reading a single commentary...I'm so easily influenced it is unbelievable.

I'm starting with the BEST...why delay?  She always looks GORGEOUS!!! How does she do it?  Flawless, always.

Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka

Love her, love the dress, love everything, my best dressed: Diane Lane

HERE COMES THE SUN: They don't call them the Golden Globes for nothing! Diane Lane glitters in a sparkly gold confection.

I'm not the hugest Laura Dern fan, and I usually enjoy disliking what she wears, but I am nutso for this bright emerald green number.  Wish Julianne Moore had been wearing it instead.  This picture doesn't do it justice.

Darling girl, darling lavendar dress.  So glad she won...my husband and I always see every Oscar nominated movie (because we are nerds), and I'm really hoping The Help is nominated so he has to watch it.

PURPLE REIGN: Best Supporting Actress winner Octavia Spencer looks like anything but 'The Help' in this lilac Tadashi Shoji.

Not a big Claire Danes fan (we've met, trust), beautiful dress

TWO-TONED: Best Actress in a Television Drama winner Claire Danes is the epitome of elegance in this black and white J. Mendel gown.

Nothing overly special about her dress, but Reese was glowing.

RED HOT: Reese Witherspoon looks ravishing in a curve-hugging Zac Posen.

I have adored watching Tina Fey's confidence level rise on the red carpet over the years!  This frothy fish-tailed number was so unexpected on her.

RED HOT: Funnywoman Tina Fey cleans up nicely in a cranberry colored strapless gown.

Stuck out in the crowd, gorgeous and amazing and my most favorite color in the world.  And I've met her too and she's sweet as pie.

HERE COMES THE SUN: Bright yellow is THE hot color of the night and presenter Paula Patton is right on trend with her eye-catching strapless mermaid number.

Another golden moment...

Maria Menounos Tebowing in Blumarine

(Can we have a Tebow sidebar?  Here's what I think in short. If you hate the never ending media coverage of Tim Tebow, I think that is perfectly acceptable.  If you hate Tim Tebow, you need to look inside your heart and figure out what's wrong with you.)

I just loved this whole look...tough to look bad when you're Charlize Theron, right?  Must be rough, bless her heart.

NUDE AND IMPROVED: Charlize Theron, who is nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy for her work in 'Young Adults' takes the plunge in a low-cut Dior gown and sparky headband.

I ADORE Emma Stone. I can tell she's going to be one of those that can do no wrong in my eyes.

TWO-TONED: 'The Help' star Emma Stone looks ravishing in this flowing maroon look.

Another who can do little wrong....

There were a million fish tail dresses last night and I don't like that style at all.  Bummed to see that back in fashion....regardless, this woman.  I mean, look at her fanny...is this a joke?  She is insanely good looking.

FISHTAILS: Sofia Vergara is her usual bombshell self in a blue strapless Vera Wang mermaid gown.

My favorite fish tail, on yet another woman who would be stunning in a sack. (While I don't come close to Miss Elle, I too am a noassatall sufferer.)

FISHTAILS: Supermodel and presenter Elle Macpherson glows in a tiered cream confection.
Elle Macphereson in Zac Posen

LOVE this dress.  She was in The Help..remember the sweet little rich lady that nobody liked?

BEST: JESSICA CHASTAIN - 'The Help' actress, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work, is a vision in white Givenchy couture decorated in pearls.
Jessica Chastain in Givenchy

She is so weeeeeeird, but this is a cool dress.

NUDE AND IMPROVED: Nicole Kidman looks better than ever in this curve-hugging beaded Versace.

I don't know what to say about Michele in this Jason Wu dress.  I don't hate it, so I didn't stick her down in my Nos, but I don't love it.  She's just so darling and cool at the same time...what do you think?

Awards season is officially upon us, and the stars were at their finest at the 2012 Golden Globes. Big winners 'The Descendants' and 'The Artist' took home multiple statues, but the awards for Best Dressed were a whole other story. Take a look the night's style winners and losers ...

BEST: MICHELLE WILLIAMS - Not only did 'My Week With Marilyn' star Michelle Williams win the award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical, but the indie darling looks sensational in this quirky Jason Wu gown. --BY JOANNA SLOAME

DRESS I'D MOST LIKE TO OWN:

And I heard she had a wardrobe malfunction.  Come to me dress.

NUDE AND IMPROVED: 'Modern Family' actress Sarah Hyland is all grown up in this lace gown. Too bad her zipper broke when she hit the red carpet! 'It just felt kind of like an explosion in my back,' the 21-year-old joked to Giuliana Rancic on the red carpet. 'And then I felt my dress start to slip and I grabbed it before it was too late.'
Sarah Hyland in Dolce & Gabana

BODY I'D MOST LIKE TO OWN:

This woman has some nerve looking like this.

NUDE AND IMPROVED: Nobody pulls off a red carpet number quite like supermodel Heidi Klum.
Heidi Klum in Calvin Klein

Okay, so these are my sad face dresses of the night.

I completely adore Amy Poehler, couldn't she do so so much better than this?  Does nothing for her.  It was backless but still meh.

NUDE AND IMPROVED: 'Parks and Recreation' star Amy Poehler may not have won for Best Actress in a Television Comedy, but she glows nonetheless in a golden short-sleeved gown.
Amy Poehler

Ummmm...where are her sheep?  Still, she's so pretty.

WORST: AMANDA PEET - Someone stole their grandma's dust ruffle ...
Amanda Peet

I'm sure she'll be fawned all over for this daring number, but I'm all yuck.  She looks very unhealthy and harsh.  And she kind of looks at Brad Pitt like she hates him which is simply intolerable.

Angelina Jolie in Versace

What??  NO.

WORST: JESSICA BIEL - She may be engaged to one of the hottest young stars in Hollywood, but Justin Timberlake's fiancé Jessica Biel looks like she hit the red carpet in her grandma's wedding dress.
Jessica Biel is a NO.

Why, Natalie?  Are you going to 8th grade Spring Cotillion?

WOST: NATALIE PORTMAN - Perhaps after you've recently lost a ton of baby weight, you shouldn't tack on a huge chunk of hot pink fabric onto the side of your prom dress.
Natalie Portman

Wow.

WORST: SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR - The 'Ringer' star said her two-year-old daughter Charlotte picked out her Monique Lhuillier gown ... and we think she may not want to put her on the payroll quite yet.
Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhullier

We saw you naked on stage Piper!  Is that what you wanted?  It wasn't good.

WORST: PIPER PERABO - The presenter played peek-a-boo in a sheer ball gown that looked more like a parachute than a glamorous gown.
Piper Parabou

I'm sorry.  I actually think this dress is sort of pretty, and I know some people will say I just don't "get" Tilda Swinton....and to that I say emphatically YOU ARE RIGHT.  I DON'T.

PURPLE REIGN: Tilda Swinton looks better than ever in this lavender tuxedo gown by Heider Ackermann.

I don't do men because nobody cares and I don't pretend well.

What do you think?
