She's Finally Here...and I'm Swooning

night peonies, lucite frame, acrylic frame, brass sconces, pink candles

Isn't she FABULOUS?!!  I'm so thrilled.

So let's start at the beginning....I've pinned this pic below like 5 times for all sorts of reasons.  The sofa, the pillow/sofa color combo, the swing arm lamps, the bookshelves.  This is one of those perfect pictures for me that captures pretty much everything I love.

Acrylic framing- great how-to advice in the comments.
And then I was reading Little Green Notebook not too long ago and she blogged about the same photo.  But she was talking about the acrylic frame and I was all YES!  That's it.  You see, I had just purchased that beautiful print from Cozamia.  Remember when I blogged about her amazing digital art?  You must check it out.

COZAMIA MODERN ART PRINTS

I ordered her HUGE because I knew I wanted a statement piece in my living room, but wasn't sure just how to frame it.  Acrylic, for sure.  My living room has been veering off into sweet territory and needed a modern kick in the pants.

Back to Jenny's post....The comments of her post have great ideas for DIYing this.  And then Jenny went ahead and made her own panels out of plexiglass....see her tutorial here.

Since my skills don't even sort of approach Jenny's, I did not attempt a DIY.  I wanted thick and bold and amazing and I knew I couldn't achieve it by my lonesome, so I called a local plastics company who specializes in lucite/acrylic furniture.

Here is the view when you walk in the front door.  I picked up the brass sconces at Decor Once More and had some pink tapers on hand. (If you follow me on Facebook, I told y'all I was about to pinkify my living room)

Because we are who we are, I had a handyman install it for me.  It is a monster and has these crazy bolts that have to be secured in the wall and so forth.

Anyway, even the handyman was all "this is sick".  I think that means cool if you're 24.  Why so blurry stupid camera user?

Do you love it like I do?  It faces the sofa.  Which I have now covered with a hot pink embroidered quilt I bought while in South Africa a few years ago.

white sofa with pink, greek key chaise lounge, blue chairs, large mirror

I sure wish Naomi would come have a pillow party in my house.  I'm a little stumped right now.

Tell me what you think!  And don't forget to check out all the other prints available from Cozamia...AMAZING and super affordable!

Sharing is caring...

We were mid-conversation driving down the road the other day...

Him: "Let's talk about dealerships."

Still with the cars.
