I love the term Modern Rustic. What does that mean? Country Luxe. Mod Farmhouse Chic.
Elle Decor did another feature on Darryl Carter in their June issue (it's not even June yet! Am cutting-edge, in the know blogger), the super fabulous yet decidedly unpretentious designer of Modern Rustic spaces.
This home he designed on the Delaware river is gorgeous. It will be all over Pinterest soon, but until then you'll have to go pick up a copy.
So instead I wanted to take a look back at Carter's own vacation retreat in Virginia that was featured last year.
Ahhhh, two years ago. The year of no color that has swiftly been replaced by neon and vibrant print-mixing.
Okay, I may be rolling around in this major bold color craze that is happening, but I will never get tired of the neutral glam that designers like Darryl Carter have captured masterfully.
Is the styling in this photo shoot not RIDICULOUS? Somebody, anybody, make my house look this awesome.
This house may read neutral, but there is far from lack of interest. The depth and visual pleasure of each room is so satisfying.
How wonderful are these super lush curtains in this simply designed, no-fuss room?
May I stay here?
I'm in love all over again with neutral.

Randomly driving yesterday, not sure what he is referring to...
Him: "Matt Lauer's hair is like that."
Me: "Like what?"
Him: "Like....he looks like he's bald, but he isn't."
Again with Matt Lauer. I guess it could be worse. He could be talking about Kathie Lee. *shudder*
