This is (FINALLY!) the Big Boy Room

It is finished!  Well, let's not get crazy...is a room ever really finished?  Other than a few finishing touches, this one is dunzo.  First and foremost I would like to announce that I will not be apologizing for the quality of these photos.  I had to use a flash (which I am loathe to do) because this room is so dark.  BUT!  Because this room is so dark, my precious little Peepie is sleeping a solid hour longer than he used to.

Hur. Ray.

First, the inspiration..

No idea where this came from.

Here we go...

Oh how I wish I tucked in the bedskirt before these pics. Live and learn.

"Be Who You Aaaaarghhh!"

"Go Where There is no Path and Leave a Trail"

Super happy with the results!

Some sources:

Bed- JC Penney (right?)
Bedding- assorted HomeGoods and Marshalls (still looking for duvet...seersucker?)
Drapes and window shade- The Curtain Exchange who brilliantly gave me an extra inch to allow for future ripping out of carpet and putting in of hardwood floors
Valance- Custom made by handyman superstar and yours truly
Hanging Shelves- Custom made by handyman superstar
Rocking Chair- Kmart
Monogrammed Pillow- Calico Daisy Etsy Shop
Sconces- Lowes
Artwork- Lovely, old (from nursery) and crazy expensive from a craft show.  Long before I learned of Etsy.  I'm looking for some antique car art to replace.
Rug- West Elm
Bookshelf- One Step Ahead
Giant Cow- Won at the South Florida Fair by superstrong and hunky husband who threw the hammer down and rang that bell

  6. Lauren! That turned out just simply adorable! I think that the orange rug fits great in there and it leaves it more colorful. I would love to hear how the big boy bed it doing.

Beth, I am a long time loather of white walls who has recently begun falling in love with them for the very first time. White walls are super HOT right now too. Coming up!!

Nikki...here is some top secret info: He is still in the crib. :-) We moved it into the big boy room and I had to move it all around to take these pictures (and crop it out of a few!). He loves it and I'm not crazy so he's staying put for now.
