1. My garage is a mess. Well, was a complete disaster of a mess. It's been packed for 6 months with furniture as we waited to move in to my husband's new office. Now that it's been cleared, the rest of it is in the process of getting organized!
I am woman, hear me roar....put these together all by my dang self.
2. Our home office is even more of a disaster. Remember this? Who can forget, I hear ya. The catchall for everything in our lives that doesn't have a place. Probably half could be disposed of in all honesty. About 30% of what is left actually belongs in there and the remainder needs to be stored in the garage. But until the garage is in order, there will be nothing else moving in.
3. We desperately need hardwood floors throughout our upstairs. Honestly, we have for a year now. The Peeps struggles with fairly serious allergies and I know that our carpet contributes to his coughing. We've been scrambling to save our pennies and then a month ago our air conditioner upstairs clogged, overflowed and did quite a bit of damage. Thank goodness for homeowner's insurance! Now we have the money to rip up the nasty carpet.
4. Hardwood floors will be installed in 2 weeks! Ever installed new flooring in your home? Guess what...everything must be packed up and moved out. I refuse to pack up all the junk in our office, move it out, only to move it back in after the floors are finished. Not going to do it. So everything must find it's place in the next two weeks. In the garage. That is currently a disaster.
5. We haven't had a fully decorated master bedroom in our entire 12 years of marriage. I've finally picked the fabric for our curtains (which are always my starting point in any room). I have a plan! My plans always cost money, but I have major guilt spending money on a new project in our home when I have so much to do elsewhere that will cost nary a penny (probably why I've never done my own room...hmmph). So I better get busy on that office if I want those curtains.
Chartreuse stripes...be excited. In fact, you should probably come help me clean out the garage so I can get closer to these curtains.
6. Can't clean out the office until I finish this darn garage!!
Is anyone else out there like this?? I'm such an all or nothing person. Enjoy your Labor Day....I need to do laundry but I can't get started until I clean out the kitchen cabinets. Which clearly can't be done until I organize the garage.
