This was supposed to be a blog about my son. Everyone told me to journal every day recording every funny thing he said. So when he literally woke up talking at 15 months (As in no talking the day before, full on jabberwocky the next. Moms at Gymboree would say "How many words does he have?" Ummmm, as many as you?) I knew he was going to be one worth documenting. And then the full sentences started at 17 months. I'm a major talker (you're laughing right now if you know me, it's fine) so I shouldn't have been so shocked at birthing Chatty Cathy the boy.

Best money we ever spent...about $100 for this train table we bought Baylor for Christmas last year, but he was too young at the time for the big track setup. So we just put it all together last week and it's a whole new bonanza of fun for our almost 3 year old (*sniff*).

Since I spent all my spare time reading blogs, I thought writing my own about him would be an excellent way to 'journal'. I wasn't going to journal, have we met? The baby book is still in the wrapper.

I realized fast that what would keep me writing this blog was my fascination, nay obsession, with decorating. And as you all know, I like the thrill of the hunt....consignment, thrift, estate sales, antiquing, etc. I've noticed that you all seem to react to my finds as well, so I'm going to be better about sharing that aspect with you.
Look at these gorgeous green velvet tufted chairs I spotted at a thrift last weekend. FABULOUS.

If you follow my Facebook page you know that I brought home this lovely vintage 70's brass etagere from Salvation Army. $49! I had some glass cut for it this morning (it was missing about half of the shelves) and it only cost me $47...so I'm under $100 for this amazing addition to my family room. Woot!
Speaking of my facebook page...I'm loving the interaction. Y'all are so shy when it comes to commenting here, but you're all naturals when it comes to FB. Got it!
We will support our sad little football team until the bitter end, but ice cream sundaes make the losing a little easier to take.
