Find Me a Home

Here's a fun new semi-regular series I'm pumped about.  I'll show you something I have that I just don't know what to do with, and you'll tell me where I should put it.  FUN, right?

First up is a centerpiece from a table at a fabulous, out in the middle of nowhere restaurant in Kalk Bay, South Africa.  We had trekked from Cape Town down to the southernmost point where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet and had the most wonderful day.

My sweet friend Roos-Maryn and I at the Southernmost point of Africa

So we stopped at Cape to Cuba for one of the most amazing meals of our lives.

Fun side note: The table next to us was filled with German tourists who were staring at me the entire night until finally asking me if I was Jennifer Capriati.  No, boo.

Anyway, this little lovely was plucked off another table and purchased by moi.  What do we even call this beauty?  Huge, for starters.

I really REALLY love it...but don't have the foggiest idea where I should put it in my home.  I love collecting and decorating with memorable tokens from travels so help me.  It needs candles, of course.

Just so that you know, there is no place on earth like South Africa, oh my.  Here was the view from the insanely fabulous house we rented for 12 days.

I know you're judging my Britney Spears sunglasses...trust me when I tell you they were cool in 2005.  Like her.

Tell me where to keep my treasure, won't you?

On another note, I've decided to sell these blue dining chairs.  You know why.  They are beautiful, they just don't work with the look I'm going for.

They are beautiful with cabriole legs and lovely carved floral detailing.  The blue silk upholstery has a few stains on it, but I haven't tried cleaning them so they may come out.  Anyway, I'll probably make a few bucks on them on Craigslist, but happy to give to a local reader (South Florida) for what I paid: $40 apiece. Let me know fast ladies!  Email me: baylorsays at gmail dot com.

Dining room updates coming soon YAY!

Baylor knows his right from his left 100% of the time now, but still can't take his clothes off.  Both of which I hear are unusual for a two year old.  :-/
