....Speaking of Art

Which y'all totally weren't.  I'm going to take your silence to mean that you aren't sure what you like either.  I'm not alone, hallelujah.

You know who does know a thing or two about great art?  Hunt Slonem.  I just got his new book and it's a beauty.

My bestie Julie Dodson, an incredible interior designer and blog-renowned talent, just put one of his stunning works in a lucky client's home.  Phone pics, but you tell that this house is going to be ahmayzing.

Look how huge it is!  I guess she moved it.

This particular painting is Slonem's Lush Capella, which was previously in the McClain Gallery in Houston.

Hunt Slonem, Lush Capella

A few of my favorite Hunt Slonem paintings...

Hunt Slonem, Pink Annunciation

He likes butterflies and birds, can you tell?  Beautiful.

Hunt Slonem, Peacock VII

In a Manhattan dining room...

In the dining room, Armani chairs and a Hunt Slonem painting add an opulent touch.

Gold Butterflies hangs in a home by designer Steven Gambrel...

Currently on ebay for a mere $15k (seriously, a good price)

Maybe I'm drawn to animal art?

Yesterday morning we were watching the news when a particularly disturbing current event story came up and I let out an involuntary sob:

Him: "What's wrong Mom?"

Me: "Baby, I just get sad.  There are some bad people in the world."

With a nod and a knowing look...

Him: "Oh, like Matt Lauer?"
