Sorry for the late post! Things were busy around the house this morning and, as usual, I didn't already have a post prepared. And then I grabbed my camera and the battery was dead. Better late than never?
I had some great success last Friday! Mostly in the discovery of a new shop and a new friend, but I also brought home a few fun things. Absolutely adore this oil painting I scored at my most favorite store, True Treasures. If you live in the Palm Beach area and haven't visited True Treasures, run don't walk.
Love the blues and greens and the gorgeous gold frame, but also holds a little meaning for me since I worked as an event manager in the sport of Polo for several years. I really haven't developed my own taste in art, or art appreciation, so I decided a few years ago to just start buying what I was drawn to. What I think is beautiful. I think if you select things that you love, it will always work together in the end, don't you?
This is where I want it. Right there above and to the right of the cutest little Peepie there ever was.
Ummm, but I have a problem. That is really high. And over stairs.
Anybody have a Little Giant I can borrow? Besides my Mom who lives a little too far away...in Virginia.
Putting a horse painting up on my gallery wall is kind of coincidental considering this picture, my original inspiration years ago.
How cute is this little chocolate and cream zebra pillow that I found at the amazing new consignment store, Sustained Style?
Oh just kidding, I got two!
I guess you figured out where they are....are you going to burn that peacock throw if you ever come to my house? You have to be so over it by now. This most likely won't be their permanent home (they are so neutral, they will go anywhere!), but for now I'm digging them. And I could never have purchased that fabric, the down inserts, and had them made for what I paid for them.
Sustained Style is not only a fabulous upscale consignment store, the owner is the sweetest and I instantly connected with her. She is a career Interior Designer and I hope to get to know her better (and pick her brain!). Please do go friend them on Facebook.
Look what's at Haute Look for a STEAL today. Since I apparently can't have a cowhide rug, you should get it. If you're not a member of Haute Look, it's worth the sign up here.
And this mid-century beauty may or may not be coming home with me soon. And no, I'm not telling you where it is until I've begged my husband to let me get it paid for it.
You can't see in the picture, but behind the intricate woodwork facing on the doors are sheets of copper. So beautiful.
What would you do with her? White lacquer? ME TOO, you have excellent taste.
My husband carried Baylor for the last 9 holes of his golf game yesterday. Baylor has his own little clubs and Sponge Bob golf balls, it is all so darling. Anyway, I walked out to get him as they were finishing up on the 18th green, and watched from a distance as my husband as his friend sunk their final putts. For those of you that may not know a thing about golf, when a round is finished it is tradition to shake hands with those you played with. I teared up when I saw both men reach down and shake Baylor's chubby little 2 year old hand. Then he and his Dad walked hand in hand back to the cart, Baylor dragging his tiny little putter behind him. I hope I remember that forever.
You have to buy that piece and white lacquer for sure !
ReplyDeleteI love the pillows. I knew an animal print was going to be the answer. Where is sustained style? where is true treasures? I'm not much of a "shopper", but i do like to look occasionally and put things on my wish list!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love your pictowall inspiration. And I hope you can pull it off without them all being a teensy bit crooked.
Happy Monday...yes, always better late than never!
Love the pillows, love the long cabinet, I do love the rug (I'm in your same boat with that one), but mostly I love the polo picture! Your home should tell a story about yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great conversational piece! I'm proud of you for shopping local!
